My name is TONY MEDINA (#999204), I am a prisoner on Texas Death Row. I am writing because a friend told me some time back that you could possibly help me connect with someone to write to in Italy. The address that he gave me for you is MANY years old, so I am not sure if the address is still good and if you are still involved with helping death row inmates find Italian pen-friends.
I have been trying to find some European pen-friends for almost a year now, and have not had any luck. As I was going thru a folder looking for some paperwork this week, I came across the note that my friend sent to me with your name and address in it, and decided to take a chance.
I have had european pen-friends in the past (even 1 from italy) but time has taken its' toll . The friends that had proved to be true and solid all ended up fading away. Some decided that they could not write to me anymore because of their advanced age, some got dispirited because of how long I have been incarcerated, and others just fell to lifes' struggles and felt that they needed to focus on their families. All of which I understand, but understanding their reasons does not make doing my time alone any easier.
If you could help me connect with someone from Italy it would be really great. I am 44 years old, and have been on death row since I was 21. I am originally from Houston Texas. I love learning about different countries. I enjoy talking about everything from Art to books (I am a HUGE bookworm), from politics to world news to cooking.
I appreciate ANY help that you can give me in finding someone to hopefully build a friendship with.
